Marísa Macias is the Project Manager for AIDD labs. She manages partner relationships, community engagements, and projects for the lab. Previously, Marísa was a Masters Researcher with Dr. Loos at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Geologic Hazards Science Center. Her research employs=ed earthquake scenario exercises to evaluate how equity-centered earthquake impact information influences emergency management decisions. Marísa graduated from the Humanitarian Engineering and Sciences program at Colorado School of Mines in 2024.

This poster, which won 1st place for Theoretical and Social Sciences, provides an overview of user engagement to design more actionable earthquake information products at the USGS.
